A Summer Picnic Date

My friend Bella always has the best ideas for her annual family session. Each year, topping the last. For weeks, we were bouncing ideas off of each other to find the perfect outfits, color palette, and location for this year’s session. I’d like to think we definitely pulled it off.  ↓

After we set up the picnic, complete with snacks, of course, we sat and hung out in the warmth of this quiet summer day. The kids played and ate as I candidly snapped photos of their family making memories together. The secret sauce to capturing the best photos of your family is allowing the kids to be kids. Let them play. Play with them. And, when they’re ready for breaks, use that time to sneak some photos of just you two.

Alex is always such a good sport at the photoshoots. Here he is, sweetly feeding Bella grapes. It’s straight up like a scene out of The Notebook. Allie + Noah — but, BETTER. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next year. I am always honored to be rehired year after year to continue telling their family story.
