A Nautical Themed Nuptial

You are my home and my adventure all at once.

Candice and I have been friends for over 15 years now. We became friends when we were in high school during high school cheerleading. We had so much fun (and may or may not have gotten into a lot of trouble together).

Naturally, as we got older, we didn’t talk or hang out as often as we used to so I was more than elated when she reached out to ask me if I would be a part of her big day. Can you believe she wasn’t planning on getting photos done for her wedding day?

Candice wanted a really simple wedding. So I was brought in less than 2 weeks prior to the big day. This meant we didn’t have much time to plan it out so we kind of just went with the flow. We did a first look with her dad and his reaction was priceless.

Candice + Justin were planning on doing a first look as well and at the last minute, Justin decided he wanted to wait until she walked down the aisle.

They got married on the Grand Lady Riverboat in Jenison and took the entire wedding party on a mini cruise down the river.

They stayed at the brand new, beautiful AC Hotel downtown which made a perfect backdrop for their wedding portraits. We took a stroll downtown Grand Rapids for photos.

And as the sun set, we made our way up to a roof top and did their final portraits overlooking the city. The sky, the weather, the newlyweds were perfect.

I couldn’t be happier that I was a part of their big day and was honored to capture their love.
